Course Summary: Introduction to Essential Digital Skills (Pre-Entry 3 → Entry 3)
This course is designed for learners who are new to digital skills or who would like to build their confidence using computers, the internet, and everyday digital tools. It provides a supportive introduction to the skills needed to progress onto the Pearson Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) at Entry 3 level.
Over 10 weeks, learners will develop the core skills needed to use digital devices, search for information online, create simple documents, communicate using email, and stay safe on the internet. The course focuses on practical, real-life tasks to help learners become more independent and confident in using technology.
At the start of the course, learners will complete an initial assessment to identify their current skill level and learning needs. This will help tailor support and ensure learners are working towards the appropriate level.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
-
Use a digital device with increased confidence
-
Search for and manage information online
-
Create and edit simple digital documents
-
Send and receive emails
-
Understand how to stay safe and secure online
This course prepares learners to progress onto the Entry 3 Essential Digital Skills qualification and supports them in developing the digital skills needed for everyday life, work, and further learning.
